Obsidian club rules

NAME

The Obsidian Club London, also known as ‘Obsidian’ or ‘Obsidian Club.’

It is a Private Members club, providing private events and concierge services.

Obsidian is available at specific hours daily and provides concierge services to obsidian tier members from Monday to Friday, 5 am - 11 pm,  and Sunday, 10 am - 9 pm.

The Obsidian office is open Monday to Friday from 9 am until 6 pm.

 

THE MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE

The Membership Committee ‘the Committee' is appointed by the company to discuss applications received for potential membership.

The Committee has authority over all matters regarding membership.

All decisions made by the Committee are made at its absolute discretion. They are final and without appeal.

 

MEMBERSHIP

Membership to the Club is by invitation or inquiry. Membership is open and must be applied for in writing or via our website application form. It is preferred that an existing member acts as a proposer. A decision will be made once the application form has been duly completed, with payment details, and after the Committee has discussed the application. Once payment has been processed, membership will be issued to the member with a copy of the Club rules.

Requests for cancellation of membership must be processed through the website or made in writing over email 15 days before the annual, bi-annual, quarterly or monthly date of the renewal. Membership can be amended during an ongoing year. Only written notice & a cancellation via our website will be accepted in order to cancel a membership. Monthly fees and upfront fees are non-refundable.

Prospective members must be over 21 years of age on the application date.

 

FEES AND SUBSCRIPTIONS

The membership fees payable by a member, as of 2023, are  £1800, £3600, £5400 and £7200 per annum, which can be paid in one annual fee or divided into equal payments; monthly, quarterly and bi-annually.

If a former member should wish to rejoin Obsidian, they will still be expected to pay the current annual fee.

An administration fee of £20 will be payable for any unpaid membership payment subscriptions.

 

MEMBER CONTACT DETAILS

Members shall inform the membership office of any changes to their contact details (postal, phone, and email address) or *Bank details in writing or by email. This can also be done through the member’s account on our website.

Obsidian is committed to ensuring the privacy and security of all member information. To prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put physical, electronic and managerial procedures in place to safeguard and secure all of the information we collect.

 

ADMISSION TO OBSIDIAN EVENTS

Members and their guests will only be admitted to events and partner events during the stated admission times.

Members and their guests must register for each event and in person at each event.

A member must accompany all guests at all times. If a member leaves an event, their guests must leave with them. Members are responsible for their guest’s conduct, and all must abide by the Rules; failure to do so will put your membership into a review.

The Manager on duty may refuse entry to any member and their guest to any of our events at their absolute discretion; partner venues and events reserve the absolute right of refusal.

No food or beverages from outside are permitted to be consumed at our events or partner venues.

 

EXPULSION OF MEMBERS

The General Manager acting on behalf of the Committee may expel from Obsidian (or suspend membership for a specified period) for any member whose conduct, in the opinion of the General Manager, might be injurious to the character or interest of the Obsidian Club and its partners or render him/ her unfit to associate with other members of Obsidian.

If the member has their membership revoked by Management, no fees will be refunded.

 

CONDUCT OF MEMBERS

On each visit to an Obsidian event or partner venue, all members shall pay any account due for food and drinks before leaving.

No member shall remove, damage, or destroy any artwork, item of furniture, or any other articles belonging to Obsidian or its partner venues.

If a member or their guest causes the loss, damage, or destruction of any such property as described above, the member shall bear full responsibility for making good all resulting in any loss.

Obsidian observes a zero-tolerance policy to drugs. If any member or other user is found in possession of, or using, illegal drugs or volatile substances, they will be asked to leave the event/venue with the termination of membership. If they do not leave, the authorities will be notified.

 

CONDUCT OF GUESTS

Members introducing guests are wholly responsible for their conduct and ensure that their guests abide by the Rules of the Lounge.

A member should inform the Obsidian Club of their guests’ early arrival, as admittance to the events and partner venues shall not be permitted otherwise.

Guests may not remain in the Lounge once the member has left the premises.

 

MEMBERS PROPERTY

Property entrusted by a member or his guest to a member of staff and staff of partner venues for safe custody or any other purpose does so entirely at their own risk.

Any items found after the end of an event or the closing of a partner venue will be recorded in the lost property book, held for 28 days from the date found, and then disposed of.

 

COMPLAINTS

Any incident that may occur at an obsidian event or immediately outside the premises that involve a member, or the guest of a member, should be reported immediately to the General Manager, or to the manager on duty.

 

Aggressive or abusive behaviour towards staff, members, or guests of members will not be tolerated, and expulsion of Obsidian will be immediate.


ALTERATION OF THE RULES

Any or all of these rules may be revoked, supplemented, or altered by the Company or the Committee at any time, and all members will be notified within 14 days of any such change.

 

BINDING EFFECT OF THE RULES

Every member shall be bound by these Rules.
